That feeling when you help develop the future of high-tech process equipment for the global food industry
As a Mechanical Engineer at Marel, you will be part of our R&D department of 40 software and mechanical engineers. We are divided into a development team for portioning equipment and one for batching equipment. This position is part of the batching equipment development team.
In this role you will be involved from day one in developing, testing, producing and implementing new systems as well as re-designing existing fully automated batching machines. You can follow the new products through the entire development cycle, from the idea phase, testing and to the finished machine in production.
You will be part of a team of skilled colleagues specialized in mechanical design, who in cooperation with the other colleagues specialized in software design, motion control, vision technology and electrical design create the future high-tech batching equipment.

- Ongoing idea generation and sparring with colleagues
- Design of fully automatic batching machines for the food industry
- 3D design in SolidWorks
- Building and testing experimental models and prototypes in collaboration with the development department
- Collaboration with the group's other development departments in Denmark, Iceland, the Netherlands and the USA.

We are looking for a candidate with an understanding of machine design, material knowledge and experience from a development department within processing industry. You are a mechanical engineer with a good theoretical background, combined with practical experience from a similar position. Your main task will be to see opportunities, be proactive and offer creative solutions for collaboration across the organization. Development is our future and a high priority at Marel.
It is important that you have an understanding of the end customer's needs and that you are fluent in written and spoken Danish and English.
