Senior Cost Controller [Norway]


 
Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the mighty Snowy Mountains Scheme, gas and diesel plants, and contracted wind and solar energy. We also provide electricity and gas to about 1 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy. Snowy 2.0 is Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. This nation-building project will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
We're looking for a dynamic Senior Cost Controller to join our Snowy 2.0 project and support the Project Controls team in controlling the project budget, costs and forecasts. This includes monitoring and assuring budget, change management, actual cost, trends, estimate to complete and estimate at completion, including the monitoring of projects risk that may impact project. This is a FIFO opportunity located on site at Lobs Hole in the Snowy Mountains.

Your key responsibilities in this role will include:
Developing and refreshing project controls plans, procedures and work instructions.

Providing support to establishment of performance measurement baselines or rebaselining processes.

Proactively identifying trends and changes informing the Project Controls Lead and budget holders potential scope, risk, cost and time impact.

Proactively challenging and identifying risks and opportunities with insight into potential cost and time impacts and advising potential mitigation costs.

Collaborating with the site team regarding progress and potential delays that impact progress.

Developing cost estimates and time phasing for any trend and change impacts.

Preparing accurate and detailed variance analysis of actual costs vs planned and financial baselines.

Providing insight to contractors' request for change, advance warnings, site instructions, variations or claims that affect the project budget, estimate at completion and time phasing.

Developing project controls dashboards and reports as part of the monthly commercial report.

We're looking for someone with:
A tertiary degree in Engineering, Project Controls, Project Management or Quantity Surveying

Extensive experience in project and cost control in the construction industry

Demonstrated high level of commercial acumen and experience with major infrastructure project control processes and procedures

Demonstrated understanding & working experience of project controls systems and tools including Prism G2 is preferred

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Excellent business engagement skills, ability to effectively communicate commercial, project and risk matters to wide range of personnel, both verbally and in writing
