About the opportunity
At Blacktown Arts we walk alongside our First Nations Elders, knowledge holders, and broader communities of artists, partners and collaborators in our shared vision of creative and cultural experiences being part of everyone’s daily lives. A deep sense of culture, place and people sit at the heart of everything we do.
This is an exciting opportunity with Blacktown Arts on a term contract, full-time basis for up to 12 months working within the Arts and Cultural Development Unit, known as Blacktown Arts. This role assists the Senior Supervisor Marketing and Communications in the implementation of all communication, promotional and marketing initiatives for the unit, and supports the delivery of a diverse program of creative and cultural experiences, including activities at The Leo Kelly Blacktown Arts Centre and for Blacktown City.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Certificate III in Business Administration, Media, Marketing, Public Relations or equivalent Communications and Marketing Assistant
- Available to work outside ordinary hours in order to support Mayoral and Council commitments and formal events as required
- Current class C driver's licence.
Desirable
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or associated fields
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- Ability to work within a team environment.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,258.50 per week
- 35-hour working week
- Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
