Job Description

Job Title: Assembler Technician, MIS

SUMMARY Assembles simple and complex mechanical and electrical mechanical assemblies for a variety of customers. Sets up, trouble shoots and develops processes and procedures for first run assemblies. Trains other assemblers on processes and procedures. As required, inspects and provides both 1st pcs and final approve.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

• Set up jobs for themselves or others to assemble.
• Develop and document procedures/processes for new jobs.
• Positions/assembles parts according blueprints and customer specifications by the following processes:
• Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, glue or other fasteners, according blueprints and customer specifications.
• Operates hand drills, drill presses, rotary air grinders, punch presses, staplers or riveting machines to assist in assembly operation.
• Test or assist in testing operation of complete product.
• As required, provides 1st pcs and final approval inspection for other assemblers by assuring that assemblies comply with drawing specifications.
• Trouble shoots /repairs products by dismantling and reassembling assemblies.
• Other duties may be assigned as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
